Yalla Kafala Foundation (YK) is a USA based NGO founded in 2020 with the vision to build the best possible future for orphans and kafala (guardianship/adoption) families. Our mission is advancing quality care for orphans by advocating, educating, and developing resources for growing families. Yalla Kafala is creating a better life for orphans in Egypt by raising awareness and shattering stereotypes about Kafala (guardianship/adoption). We are here to ease and streamline the before and after of the kafala journey for prospective kafala families. We support these families by empowering them with the tools needed to navigate the legal requirements and the life stage of becoming a family; with an ultimate vision to raise healthy, emotionally intelligent humans. As we enter year three since our founding, Yalla Kafala is continuing to grow its infrastructure capacity and resources. Despite limited resources during the start-up years, YK has made stellar strides in advancing its mission despite many challenges and continued obstacles currently facing kafala families.
