Medical Services: Shifa Healthcare operates Six Community Clinics that have served more than 100,000 individuals: low- income, uninsured, underserved, and poverty-stricken families of the Greater Houston Areas. Since 2015; the Synott clinic alone has served more than 18,000 medical patients whereas, the other five clinics have served 16,000 patients based on their once-a-day operation. More than 3,000 FREE COVID Tests were done in 2020. Additional 4,000 Families were supported for Food, Employment, Shelter, and Economic support during COVID Pandemic. Ninety-nine percent of our patients are uninsured, underinsured, or lack basic documentation to access quality medical care. Destitute women (60%) frequently avail services than men (40%). Children are less than 10% whereas, the majority of health care beneficiaries are between ages 25 to 65 (70%). Uninsured seniors ages 65 and above (20%) use medical services for chronic conditions and continuum of care. Shifa Healthcare staff is very diverse that speaks multiple languages that provide easy access and comfort in presenting their medical problems in their own languages, especially seniors who would like to attend Shifa Clinics due to easily speak multiple languages. However, transport is a barrier to access to community health services. There is no local transport that operates around Shifa Clinics. We are very honored to have more than 100 volunteer physicians, dentists, multi-specialty doctors, and allied healthcare professionals who dedicatedly volunteer their time to serve indigent patients. We are highly blessed with this large qualified human resource group available for the care to our low-income patients. Shifa Healthcare provides free services however, donations are accepted at the patient’s ability to pay. We do not deny anyone who cannot afford medical care. An appointment is not necessary for medical services and no insurance is required to access Shifa Healthcare Clinics.
